Butter Tarts recipe
Give your Sweet Tooth a Treat with these Butter Tarts! We dare you to try to eat just one of these. Rich, nutty, sweet pastry tarts. Great for so many occasions. Finish a special dinner or simply take your morning coffee to a new level. And, so easy and quick to make.
Recipe makes 12 tarts
Ingredients:
about 1 lb (454g) butter pie dough (see our recipe)
6 oz (160g) brown sugar
6 oz (160g) maple syrup
2.5 oz (75g) unsalted butter
2 eggs (note these were not included in the video; they will thicken the filling, if that is desired)
0.5 oz (15g) apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp (2g) salt
6-8 oz (100-130g) chopped walnuts
Butter Tarts preparation steps:
1. roll out butter pie dough to about 1/8" thickness. Cut 4" rounds and put in oiled muffin tins.
2. whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, apple cider vinegatr and salt to make filling.
3. divide chopped walnuts into muffin cups.
4. pour in filling to muffin cups.
5. bake for 20-25 minutes at 350°F.
